It was a historic season for Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. who became the first player in Roger Dorn Baseball League History to win Hitter of the Year and Activation of the Year in the same season.
Vladdy was a monster from start to finish of the RDBL Regular Season, leading the league in scoring for the Regular Season before turning in a dominant RDBL Playoff performance with a .310/.382/.651 line that placed him third in scoring over the final five weeks of the season.
Guerrero ended his full MLB season hitting .311/.401/.601 with 29 doubles, 48 homers, 111 RBI and 123 runs, totaling a RDBL-leading 579.5 points. He led the AL in runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, OPS+, total bases and runs scored. He tied with Salvador Perez for the home run crown. His 48 home runs were the most in MLB History by a player age 22 or younger, passing Eddie Matthews on the final day of the season with a majestic 450-foot blast.
Guerrero, Jr. will enter 2022 alongside Lake Merced Goutfish shortstop Fernando Tatis, Jr. as the league's premier values as each remains under contract for two more seasons at $3 and $5.
