2022 Free Agent Rankings Released

The 2022 Free Agent Rankings, 1.0 was released on Monday afternoon with two-way star Shohei Ohtani topping the list of available players in the Roger Dorn Baseball League.

The strength of the Free Agent Class could depend largely on the looming decisions from the Spokane Fightin' Fish and Las Vegas Aristocrats on the options for Gerrit Cole (2/$73) and Max Scherzer (3/$68). Scherzer currently holds the record for highest Keeper contract for a pitcher in RDBL History while Cole's $73 is the highest overall contract in League History.

Early indications are that both pitchers could be placed back into the market though final decisions are hardly formed given the CBA stall and lack of Spring Training evaluations.

The Meinert Hops also hold a looming option on Mike Trout (3/$71) who holds the record for highest overall Keeper contract in RDBL History. Per early off-season reports, GM Garrett Shelley is planning to retain Trout though that plan could change in the coming weeks.

If Trout stays with the Hops, 2021 RDBL Playoff Most Valuable Player Bryce Harper would stand alone as the top available hitter available after completing his $50 contract last season.

The Free Agent Rankings can be found under the 2022 Draft Room tab or on the home page using the 2022 Free Agent logo. The list will be updated throughout Spring Training.
