2026 MLB.com Top 100 Prospects

Updated: 1 day ago

The release of the 2026 MLB.com Top 100 Prospects list offers a data-rich snapshot of how aggressively the Roger Dorn Baseball League has leaned into long-term roster construction. Of the 100 ranked prospects, approximately 55 are currently rostered, leaving 45 players — 45% of the list — still sitting in free agency. For a 15-team league that has been running for over a decade, that level of unclaimed elite talent is striking and suggests the next phase of roster consolidation is still ahead.

At the top of the ownership leaderboard, the San Mateo Oppo Tacos clearly separate themselves. San Mateo rosters eight Top-100 prospects, the most of any RDBL franchise, and their system is headlined by Konnor Griffin, one of the most dynamic athletes in the minors and a consensus franchise-level prospect. Griffin is complemented by high-end bats like Samuel Basallo and Walker Jenkins, giving the Tacos both elite upside and positional diversity. No team combines volume and star power quite like San Mateo.

Close behind are the Lake Merced Goutfish, who place seven prospects on the list, a group headlined by Sebastian Walcott, one of the highest-ceiling teenage hitters in baseball. The Goutfish system skews young and volatile, featuring multiple premium athletes such as Colt Emerson and Lazaro Montes. While fewer of their prospects project for immediate 2026 impact, Lake Merced may boast the highest long-term ceiling of any organization in the league.

The next tier includes Mission Viejo Maulers and Honolulu Hammerheads, each with six Top-100 prospects. Mission Viejo’s list is anchored by Max Clark, a potential middle-of-the-order cornerstone whose blend of polish and athleticism gives the Maulers a realistic near-term star. Honolulu, meanwhile, is headlined by Kevin McGonigle and J.J. Weatherholt, reflecting a system built on high-floor, up-the-middle talent rather than singular superstar upside. Together, these four teams account for 27 of the Top 100 prospects, more than a quarter of the entire list.

Positionally, the list reveals clear trends. Shortstops make up roughly one-third of the Top 100, far and away the most represented position, followed by outfielders. That concentration has shaped RDBL trade dynamics, as middle-infield prospects remain the league’s most flexible and liquid assets. Pitching, by contrast, is both scarcer and more concentrated, particularly among arms with realistic 2026 timelines.

That scarcity is especially evident when isolating near-term impact. Across the entire list, only 15–20 prospects project as legitimate candidates to provide meaningful MLB production in 2026, and the majority of those players are already rostered. Teams like the Meinert Hops, headlined by Andrew Painter, and Burlingame Blue Ducks, anchored by Rhett Lowder, may not lead the league in prospect volume, but they control a disproportionate share of players closest to contributing real fantasy value.

Finally, the sheer quality of the free-agent pool stands out. Among the 45 unrostered Top-100 prospects are several high-end names, including Nolan McLean, Eli Willits, Carson Benge, and Kade Anderson. That combination of quantity and caliber is rare and suggests the RDBL prospect economy is still in motion. The Top 100 is no longer just a ranking exercise — it’s a scoreboard for future leverage, and it shows exactly which franchises are positioned to shape the league over the next several seasons.
