Critical Start for Gausman

While the Clovers sport the league’s second best offense overall, that unit has let them down as late just as their pitching has taken off.  The Clovers staff has posted the most pitching points in the RDBL over the last 28 days while sporting a 3.25 ERA over that span.  The offense hasn’t matched that production, ranking 9th in scoring with a .248 average.  While they look to spark the offense, Kevin Gausman will look to continue the club’s roll on the mound with a big start against the Angels on Tuesday.  The Clovers currently sit in 7th place, outside of the final Wild Card spot as they trail the Nashville Aristocrats by 41.0 points.

Caminero Gets the Call

Top Hitting Prospect Junior Caminero has officially been called up by the Tampa Bay Rays with the expectation that the Alamo Short Stacks will add the infielder to their Playoff Roster in two weeks.  Caminero, who will be in the lineup Tuesday, battled multiple leg injuries at Triple-A this season, slashing .276/.331/.498 with 13 homers in 53 games this season. He’s been especially hot this month, going 14-for-40 with three homers in his last nine games.

Lugo, Skubal Make Case for Pitcher of the Year Honors

Seth Lugo (Falcons) and Tarik Skubal (Stacks) are both on the mound Tuesday as they look to chase down Logan Gilbert (Stacks) for the lead in pitching points this season.  With just 13 days remaining, the trio are each likely to get two starts the remainder of the Regular Season before the Pitcher of the Year honors are announced.  Gilbert (482.0) currently holds a 32.0 point margin over Skubal (450.0) and 33.0 margin over Lugo (449.0).
