Devils Inching Towards Selling?
The Mt. Diablo Devils have a RDBL-low 76.5 points this week thanks in large part to a -24.0 point outing from reliever Will Smith. They send their ace Max Scherzer to the mound to help right the ship but a rough outing could signal a white flag for GM Jason Watson. The trade market has been relatively quiet to date with only the Maltese Falcons focused in 2022 so there figures to be plenty of demand if the Devils due shift their focus. There are plenty of hot bats on Watson's club as the unit ranks second in offensive scoring over the last seven days.
Jesus Aguilar Hot Streak
The Maulers first baseman leads all hitters with 32.0 points this week and is hitting .303/.385/.590 overall. The Maulers continue to hang around in the Wild Card hunt thanks to a RDBL-best 2.66 Team ERA, but the offense is picking up steam thanks in large part to Aguilar.
Miley After No-Hitter
Miley played a critical role in helping keep the Hammerheads from losing steam despite missing Corbin Burnes and Jacob deGrom and will make his first start since his no-hitter last week. Miley is looking to prove he can be a trusted weekly option for GM Ross Horiuchi and help pick up the slack from expected stud Kenta Maeda. Miley will oppose the Rockies in Coors Field on Friday.
Giolito Looking for Step Forward
The Fringe expected big things from activation Lucas Giolito but have been greeted with mixed results to date. A -40 outing in Boston earlier this year has tanked his overall stats but he has produced just one start over 18 points this season. GM Tony Guglielmi will have his eyes on Giolito against the Royals Friday as he looks for a co-ace to Shane Bieber.
