On The Lookout: Monday, 5/2

Period 5 kicks off with a light eight game schedule Monday, a slate that starts with the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals at 10am.

Gallen the Ace?

The Hops look to have a legitimate top shelf rotation with the emergence of Eric Lauer and Shane McClanahan while there's plenty of scoring upside remaining from Logan Webb and Shohei Ohtani. Lost in the shuffle might be the club's best starter, Zac Gallen. A steal at $15 in Auction, Gallen is back to his 2020 form after an injury plagued 2021 season. He has posted a 0.67 WHIP and 0.60 ERA over his first 15 innings and will face the Miami Marlins Monday.

Stacks Looks to Pad Lead with Sandoval, Lopez

The Alamo Short Stacks will look to take advantage of the short Monday schedule with a pair of starters on the mound. Patrick Sandoval (0.00 ERA) and Pablo Lopez (0.39 ERA) are off to a hot start and will face off against the Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks Monday.

Taters Cooking

The Idaho Taters are shaking off their slow start, posting 335.0 points in Period 4 while notching a 2.66 Team ERA over the last 21 days. The club will look to continue that hot run with Jordan Montgomery (@TOR) and Chris Paddack (@BAL) on Monday.

Cease vs. Halos

The Lake Merced Goutfish have worked through several speed bumps early in the season and enter Period 5 in the final Wild Card spot with significant upside for the remainder of 2022 as they close in on the return of Fernando Tatis, Jr. The club will send right-hander Dylan Cease to the mound against the Angels Monday afternoon as they still look for his command to take a step forward. Cease has been strong with a 3.27 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 22.0 innings but continues to produce self-inflicted injuries with 10 walks.

Fried, Odorizzi Look to Keep 'Crats Rolling

The Las Vegas Aristocrats own a 2.32 ERA over the last 21 days, third best in the RDBL over that span. The rotation will look to continue their hot streak with Max Fried and Jake Odorizzi on the mound Monday. The duo combined for 52.0 points in their outings last week.
