Heads Look to Separate Themselves
The Honolulu Hammerheads have been one of the hottest teams in the RDBL over the last three periods, moving from 7th into a solid spot in 3rd place. Despite the hot streak, only 74.5 points separate 3rd through 6th place entering play on Saturday but GM Ross Horiuchi is out to change that today as they send Jacob deGrom, Ian Anderson and Kenta Maeda to the mound.
Arraez Debut for Goutfish
It's been a quiet trade market due in large part to the depth of contenders in the RDBL but the Lake Merced Goutfish found an upgrade on Saturday in utilityman Luis Arraez from the St. Joseph Jokers. Arraez showed off some speed Friday with the pair of triples and has gone 13-for-35 (.371) with three triples and two doubles in 10 games since he returned from a shoulder injury. He has racked up a home run, 20 RBI, 27 runs scored, four triples and five doubles across 200 plate appearances with a .295/.365/.386 slash line and provides additional depth for the league's best team.
Wood Hollow for Fish
The Fightin' Fish thought they were getting a significant upgrade in their rotation when they acquired Alex Wood from the Maulers on May 17th. Shaky starts have resulted in only 5.0 total points through five starts. The Fish and GM Michael Tirabassi will look for better results Saturday night against the A's.
Fringe Look to Continue Push for Playoff Spot
The Lunatic Fringe posted a 146.5 point night on Tuesday and look to continue their push for a Wild Card spot on Saturday behind an improved Patrick Corbin. The left-hander has 48.0 points over his last two starts despite owning a 5.40 ERA on the season and will oppose the Marlins on Saturday.
