Manoah Debut for Ducks
Pitching prospects are few and far between these days with the majority of the top tier of the Top 100 dominated by hitters. One of the biggest risers is set for his MLB debut Wednesday as Alec Manoah, a 2021 7th Rounder by the Burlingame Blue Ducks, will oppose the New York Yankees. The big 6’6 right-hander has been making Triple-A hitters look downright foolish this season with his FB/SL/CH combination. That slider especially has been dominant. Through three starts, Manoah allowed only one earned run while posting a 4.5% walk rate and 40.9% strikeout rate.
The Ducks look to have made a wise selection in the 2nd Round as well as lefty Reid Detmers punched out 10 in six innings last night in just his 4th pro start.
Fish Dynamic Duo on the Mound
The Fish have been steadily swimming in 3rd place over the last week but will look to make a big push on Wednesday as they send Trevor Bauer and Tyler Glasnow to the mound. The duo ranks 4th and 14th in pitcher scoring entering play Wednesday and will look to take advantage of the Goutfish and Stacks not having a scheduled starter today.
Scherzer Watch
The market for Max Scherzer continues to be white-hot according to sources with multiple clubs in contact with the Mt. Diablo Devils. Scherzer was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Reds after allowing two runs on five hits and a walk while fanning nine across seven innings and ranks 8th in pitcher scoring.
Can the Fringe Push Continue?
The Fringe lead the RDBL with 125.0 points this period and will look to continue their push for the left side of the standings and a Wild Card spot. GM Tony Guglielmi will send right-hander John Gant to the mound against a tough White Sox lineup.
