Seven RDBL Prospects Selected in Sunday's MLB Draft

The Roger Dorn Baseball League saw seven prospects selected on the first day of the Major League Baseball Draft Sunday. The Meinert Hops certainly had an eye for talent back in March, selecting catcher Henry Davis from the University of Louisville with Davis being the first name off the board to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Right-hander Jack Leiter, a 2021 RDBL first round pick by the Idaho Taters and GM Mike Friedrich, was the second name selected by the Texas Rangers. Leiter was one of two Taters prospects taken as shortstop Marcelo Mayer was selected fourth overall by the Boston Red Sox.

Shortstop Jordan Lawlar (Asti Grape Stompers), right-hander Kumar Rocker (Mission Viejo Maulers), shortstop Matt McLain (St. Joseph Jokers) and right-hander Ty Madden (Hops) were also 1st Round selections on Sunday.

Hops catching prospect Adrian Del Castillo is expected to be selected in the 2nd Round on Monday which will leave Lake Merced Goutfish shortstop Elijah Green and Spokane Fightin' Fish shortstop Termarr Johnson, both favorites to go early in the 2022 MLB Draft, as the only RDBL prospect remaining in either high school or college.
