With Period 6 marking the open window for prospect activations in the Roger Dorn Baseball League, the Activation Tracker was given a fresh update as the league is up to 163 lifetime activations since its inception in 2013. Pacing the RDBL continues to be the Cloverdale Clovers and GM Chris Shelley who has produced 17 activations from his Reserve Draft classes.
The latest group for the Clovers includes Chance Sisco (2015) and Raimel Tapia (2014) who joined 2019 homegrown activations Rafael Devers, Juan Soto, Ryan McMahon and Jack Flaherty.
The Alamo Short Stacks and St. Joseph Jokers rank second in the RDBL with 14 lifetime activations. The Stacks added Lucas Giolito, Kyle Tucker, Ian Anderson and Bo Bichette to their list in 2021 while the Jokers produced Brady Singer, Yermin Mercedes and Andres Gimenez.
Despite not joining the RDBL until 2014 under expansion, the Lake Merced Goutfish continue to move up the activation rankings. GM Ryan Atkinson has produced 12 activations with Leody Taveras and Alex Reyes joining the group this season.
The Activation Tracker can be found under the Prospects tab above.
Notes
- Star power certainly outpaces activation numbers in the RDBL and few can match the production of the Maltese Falcons' picks to date. Unfortunately, their two largest names are playing for other clubs now but GM Gary Falzon and Assistant GM Erik Nielsen certainly deserve their due for the picks of Fernando Tatis, Jr. and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., two of the best values in the entire league currently.
- The Honolulu Hammerheads continue to show an upward trend in their Minor League group. GM Ross Horiuchi produced three activations this season (Jesus Luzardo, Mike Soroka and Cristian Pache), and while two of those assets are no longer with the club, all signs point towards a big wave in 2022. The Heads could have a major class next season as Alex Kiriloff, Jazz Chisholm, William Contreras, Tyler Stephenson, Jarren Duran and Josh Lowe are just some of the names trending towards promotions in the RDBL.
